H-L Girls Grab District Runner-Up Title

The Lady Chieftains grabbed a District Runner-Up Trophy Saturday at Bucyrus. Colonel Crawford won the title with 108 points, with H-L just clipping Carey for second 79-78. They were followed in the standings by Crestview, Mohawk, Seneca East, Monroeville, South Central, Wynford, Buckeye Central, Lucas, Bucyrus, Ridgemont, Mansfield Christian, St. Peter's, New Riegel and Crestline in that order. Eight runners score in each event with the Top 4 moving on to the Regional Meet in Lancaster this week.
Grabbing a 1st place finish was the 4 x 400 Team of Corrin Hoover, Taylor Sours, Elizabeth Wells and Abbi Roerdink. Seconds were scored by Corroin Hoover in the 300 Hurdles, Taylor Leiter in the Pole Vault, the 4 x 800 Team of C. Hoover, Ashley Brickner, Renae Kapelka and Leiter , the 4 x 200 team of Sours, Wells, Peyton Hoover and Roerdink and Roerdink in the 400. The 400 and the 4 x 400 established new H-L School Records.
Fifth Place points were scored by Kapelka in the Long Jump, the 4 x 100 team of Sours, Wells, Megan Kreais and Bri Landers, Landers in the Pole Vault and Sours in the 200. Sixth place was grabbed by Hope Kreais in the 300 Hurdles. Sevenths were scored by Ashley Brickner in the 1600, M. Kreais in the High Jump, Landers in the 100 and Leiter in the 800, Eighths were Corrin Hoover in the 100 Hurdles and Peyton Hoover in the 400.
H-L Girls 3rd @ BVC Championships

The Lady Chieftains finished 3rd in the BVC Championships on Friday Night, narrowly missing the Runner-Up spot by 1/2 point to Leipsic. Liberty -Benton won the title. After H-L, Van Buren, Arlington, Riverdale, ARcadia, Vanlue, North Baltimore, Pandora-Gilboa, Cory-Rawson and McComb followed in the standings.
Corrin Hoover earned 1st Team Honors in the 300 Hurdles. Second Team Honors were won by the 4 x 200 team of Taylor Sours, Elizabeth Wells, Peyton Hoover and Abbi Roerdink and the 4 x 400 team of C. Hoover, P. Hoover, Wells and Roerdink. Third Team League Honors were grabbed by the 4 x 800 team of C. Hoover, Renae Kapelka, Ashley Brickner and Taylor Leiter, and Roerdink in the 400.
The Lady Chieftains will start tournament action this Thursday @ Bucyrus High School.
Chieftains Top Tigers in Dual

The H-L Girls won a duel meet with Seneca East in Attica on Monday, beating the Tigers 82-67. Scoring 1st Place finishes for the Chieftains were Megan Kreais in the High Jump, Renae Kapelka in the Long Jump, the 4 x 800 team of Corrin Hoover, Kapelka, Ashley Brickner and Taylor Leiter, the 4 x 200 team of Taylor Sours, Elizabeth Wells, Peyton Hoover and Abbi Roerdink, the 4 x 400 team of C. Hoover, P. Hoover, Wells and Roerdink, Leiter in the 3200. C. Hoover in the 100 and 300 Hurdles and Roerdink in the 200 and 400.
Taking seconds were Bri Landers in the Long Jump, Karyssa Siebenaller in the Discus, Leiter in the Pole Vault, Channelle Lyons in the 100 Hurdles and the 200, Becky Greene in the 400, Hope Kreais in the 300 Hurdles and Kapelka in the 800.
H-L Girls Take Ottawa Hills Championship

The Lady Chieftains had a big night at Ottawa Hills on Friday, taking home the Championship in the twelve team Relays Invite. It was the 49th Annual Green Bear Relays. H-L scored 108 points to edge out Rossford for the title. North Baltimore, Northwood, Evergreen, Summerfield, Gibsonburg, Ottawa Hills, Pettisville, Maumee Valley, Danbury and Stritch Catholic followed in that order.
Taking 1st Place relays were the Pole Vault team of Taylor Leiter, Bri Landers and Becky Greene, the Distance Medley team of Corrin Hoover, Greene, Ashley Brickner and Renae Kapelka, The Shuttle Hurdle team of C. Hoover, Peyton Hoover, Channelle Lyons and Hope Kreais, the 4 x 100 team of Taylor Sours, Megan Kreais, Elizabeth Wells and Landers, the 4 x 200 team of Sours, Wells P. Hoover and Abbi Roerdink and the 4 x 400 team of C. Hoover, P. Hoover, Wells and Roerdink.
H-L Drops Close One to Van Buren

The Lady Chieftains lost a close one @ Van Buren on Tuesday, falling 64-71 to the host team. Gaining 1st Place finishes for H-L were Renae Kapelka in the Long Jump and the 100, Corrin Hoover in the 100 and 300 Hurdles and Abbi Roerdink in the 400. Bri Landers and Taylor Leiter tied for 1st in the Pole Vault.
Seconds were picked up by Landers in the Long Jump, Karyssa Siebenaller in the Discus, Megan Kreais in the 100, Kapelka in the 1600, Hope Kreais in the 300 Hurdles, Leiter in the 800, Roerdink in the 200 and Taylor Sours in the 3200.
H-L Girls Win the Schultz Invite

The Lady Chieftains took the Dick Schultz Invite Championship in it's return to Hopewell-Loudon on Saturday, piling up 202 total points to Runner-Up Calvert's 126. Lakota, Delta, Bucyrus, Gibsonburg and New Riegel followed in the standings.
First Place Relay finishes were taken by the 4 x 800 team of Corrin Hoover, Renae Kapelka, Ashley Brickner and Taylor Lieter, the 4 x 200 team of Taylor Sours, Elizabeth Wells, Peyton Hoover and Abbi Roerdink, the 4 x 100 team of Sours, Wells, Megan Kreais and Bri Landers and the 4 x 400 team of C. Hoover, P. Hoover, Wells and Roerdink.
Individual 1st Place finishes were taken by Leiter in the Pole Vault, Corrin Hoover in the 100 and 300 Hurdles, Sours in the 200 and Roerdink in the 400. Seconds were grabbed by Becky Greene in the Pole Vault, Roerdink in the Triple Jump, Peyton Hoover in the 400 and Leiter in the 800.
Lady Chieftain Take Quad

The Lady Chieftains took first in a Home Quad Meet with Old Fort North Baltimore and New Riegel last nite at the H-L Track. Our girls scored 103.5 points, followed by North Baltimore with 62, Old Fort with 59.5 and New Riegel with 31.

H-L Girls 1st in Five Team Meet @ Riverdale

The Lady Chieftains finished 1st in a five team meet at Riverdale last nite. H-L scored 109, Riverdale 104, Vanlue 48, Pandora Gilboa 47 and Liberty-Benton 20. Taking 1st Place Honors for Hopewell-Loudon were the 4 x 800 Team of Corrin Hoover, Renae Kapelka, Zanna Kammeyer and Taylor Leiter, the 4 x 200 Team of Taylor Sours, Elizabeth Wells, Bri Landers and Abbi Roerdink, the 4 x 400 Team of Hoover, Leiter, Wells and Roerdink, Leiter in the 800 and Pole Vault, Hoover in the 300 Hurdles and Megan Kreais in the High Jump.
Taylor Leiter's Vault of 10'0" tied the H-L Record for Girls' Pole Vault set in 2011 by Jenny Lucius.
H-L Girls Runner-Up @ Sandusky SMCC Invite

The Lady Chieftains took the Runner-Up spot in the 1st Annual Sandusky St. Mary Invite on Saturday. They were edged by the home team 134.5-125.5. Bucyrus followed with 74, Old Fort 69, Danbury 47 and Crestline 40.
Gaining 1st Place honors for H-L were the 4 x 800 Team of Corrin Hoover, Renae Kapelka, Ashley Brickner and Taylor Leiter, the 4 x 400 Team of C. Hoover, Peyton Hoover, Elizabeth Wells and Abbi Roerdink, Leiter in the 800, Roerdink in the 400 and Kapelka in the 3200.
Picking up seconds were the 4 x 200 Team of Taylor Sours, Wells, P. Hoover and Roerdink, the 4 x 100 Team of Channelle Lyons, Megan Kreais, Sours and Wells and C. Hoover in the 300 Hurdles.
H-L Takes Tri-Meet @ Port Clinton

The H-L Girls had a big night at Port Clinton, winning a Tri-Meet with the host team and Vermilion. Final score was H-L 85, Port Clinton 47 and Vermilion 43. Grabbing 1st Place finishes for the Chieftains were Megan Kreais in the High Jump, Becky Greene in the Pole Vault, Renae Kapelka in the 1600, Taylor Leiter in the 3200, Corrin Hoover in the 300 Hurdles and Abbi Roerdink in the 800.
It was also a big nite for the Relay teams, as all four took first place honors. The 4 x 800 team was Corrin Hoover, Kapelka, Ashley Brickner and Leiter, the 4 x 200 team was Taylor Sours, Elizabeth Wells, Peyton Hoover and Abbi Roerdink, the 4 x 100 team was Sours, Wells, Megan Kreais and Bri Landers and the 4 x 400 team was Hoover, Hoover, Wells and Roerdink.
H-L Girls 3rd at Lakota Invite

The Lady Chieftains had a great day at the Lakota Invite, placing 3rd of the 17 teams competing. Oak Harbor won the meet with 136 points, followed by Margaretta with 94 and then H-L with 74 and Holgate with 62. Lake, Lakota, Calvert, Otsego, Woodmore, Clyde, Genoa, Fostoria, Old Fort, Fremont St. Joe, Northwood, New Riegel and Gibsonburg followed in that order.
Top placers for the Chieftains were Abbi Roerdink with a 2nd in the 400 and Hope Kreais in the 300 Hurdles also 2nd. The 4 x 800 Relay Team of Taylor Leiter, Corrin Hoover, Renae Kapelka and Ashley Brickner ran 2nd, as did the 4 x 400 team of Corrin Hoover, Peyton Hoover, Elizabeth Wells and Roerdink.
Chiefains Grab 2nd in Home Quad

Lady Chieftain Track hosted Findlay High School, Liberty-Benton and Danbury Tuesday afternoon. H-L finished Runner-Up to Findlay 124-63, with Liberty-Bento next at 53 and Danbury with 14.
Gaining 1st place finishes for the Chieftains were Corrin Hoover in the 300 Hurdles and Abbi Roerdink in the 100 Meter Dash.

H-L Girls took home the Runner-Up Trophy at the Carey Blue Devil Relays on Saturday. Carey won the Meet with 141, H-L had 100, Riverdale 78 and Willard, Arlington, Arcadia, Calvert and North Baltimore followed.
Gaining 1st Place Honors was the High Jump Team of Megan Kreais, Hope Kreais and Elizabeth Wells and the Shuttle Hurdle team of Channelle Lyons, Hope Kreais, Peyton Hoover and Corrin Hoover.

Lady Chieftains Win Five Team Meet to Open Season

The Lady Chieftains got off to a great start in their first meet last nite, coming out on top in a 5 team meet. The scores were H-L 113, Carey 104, Riverdale 70, Vanlue 33 and Crestline 22. Gaining 1st place finishes for the Chieftains were Abbi Roerdink in the 400, Taylor Leiter in the Pole Vault and the 800, Hope Kreais in the 300 Hurdles, Channelle Lyons in the 100 Hurdles, REnae Kapelka in the Long Jump and the 4 x 200 Relay Team of Taylor Sours, Megan Kreais, Peyton Hoover and Roerdink.
