Lady Chieftains Advance to Regionals

The H-L Girls advanced to the Regional Meet with a 4th Place finish at the District Race in Findlay on Saturday. The Top 5 schools of the 21 involved advanced. The Lady Chieftains were led by the 10th and 15th place finishes of Alivia Roerdink and Taylor Leiter. Taylor Sours, Ashley Brickner, Hazel Stone, Macy Breidenbach and Taylor Joseph rounded out the Regional Quallifiers.

The girls will run at Hedges-Boyer Park in Tiffin next Saturday the 26th @ 11 am.

H-L Girls Win SBC Crown

The Lady Chieftains won the SBC River Division Championship on Saturday @ Hedges-Boyer Park in Tiffin. This was the first year in the SBC League for Hopewell-Loudon.  The girls were led by Alivia Roerdink with a 4th place finish and followed by Taylor Leiter, Taylor Sours, Hazel Stone and Ashley Brickner as the scoring runners. Macy Breidenbach and Corrin Hoover filled out the Top Seven. Roerdink was named 1st Team SBC.  Leiter, Sours, Stone and Brickner were 2nd Team and Breidenbach and Hoover  earned Honorable Mention status.

The Junior High Girls were 3rd in their League Race. They were led by Hannah Schreiner, who was followed by Emma Hintze, Ruby Stone, Jenna Brown, Bria Crawford, Delana Wright and Eva Kuebler in that order. Hannah earned 1st Team Junior HIgh honors, while Emma and Ruby were 2nd Team.

H-L Girls 3rd @ Booster Invite

The Lady Chieftains finished 3rd at the Fostoria Booster Invite Saturday. Van Buren won the meet with 40 points followed by Carey with 46 and H-L with 60. Old Fort, New Riegel, Tinora and Leipsic followed in the standings. Alivia Roerdink led the Chieftains, followed by Taylor Leiter, Taylor Sours, Macy Breidenbach and Taylor Joseph for the five scoring runners. All five were in the Top 20. Hazel Stone and Ashley Brickner finished out the top seven runners.

The Junior High girls were led by Emma Hintze and Hannah Schreiner earning Top 15 medals. Delana Wright, Jenna Brown and Bria Crawford completed the scoring runners with Ruby Stone and Eva Kuebler also running.

H-L Girls 5th in Close Race

The H-L Girls competed hard at the Buckeye Central Invite on Saturday coming in 5th of the 17 schools. Ten teams fielded full teams. Northmor won the meet with 59 points. Wynford finished with 89, Carey 92, Colonel Crawford 93, H-L 94 and Crestview 95. Willard, Buckeye Central, Ridgedale and St. Peter's followed.

Alivia Roerdink led the team, followed by Taylor Sours and Taylor Leiter all in the Top 20 runners. Ashley Brickner and Hazel Stone rounded out the scoring runners with Taylor Joseph and Macy Breidenbach finishing out the Top Seven.

The H-L Junior High finished 5th of seven full teams. Hannah Schreiner led the way, followed by Emma Hintze, Jenna Brown, Ruby Stone, Bria Crawford, Delana Wright and Eva Kuebler in that order

Lady Chieftains Grab 5th @ Widewater

The H-L Girls had another strong performance Saturday at the Liberty Center Widewater Invite. They placed 5th of the 20 schools in their race. Taylor Sours led the way followed by Alivia Roerdink, Taylor Leiter, Ashley Brickner and Macy Breidenbach for the five scoring runners. Hazel Stone and Corrin Hoover completed the Top Seven. Host Liberty Center won the Meet.

The Junior High Girls were 12th of 18 teams. Hannah Schreiner led the team, followed by Emma Hintze, Bria Crawford, Ruby Stone, Jenna Brown, Delana Wright and Eva Kuebler in that order.

H-L Girls Have Solid Performance @ Lakota

The Lady Chieftains had a solid performance at the Lakota Invite. They place 4th of the 17 schools in their division. Liberty Center won the meet with 42 points, followed by Woodmore with 93, Van Buren with 97 and then the Chieftains with 107. Sandusky St. Mary, Carey, Old Fort, Lakota, New Riegel, Mohawk and Monroeville followed H-L in the standings. Six other schools did not field full teams. The H-L Girls were led by Alivia Roerdink and Taylor Sours with Top 20 finishes. Hazel Stone, Ashley Brickner, Macy Breidenbach, Taylor Joseph and Hanna Wyman rounded out the scoring runners. All seven finished in the Top 40 in the race that contained 120 runners.

The Junior HIgh team was 8th of 17 teams. They were led by Hannah Schreiner, who was followed by Emma Hintze, Ruby Stone, Delana Wright, Jenna Brown, Bria Crawford and Eva Kuebler in that order.

H-L Ladies Take 3rd @ Riverdale Invite

The H-L Girls were 3rd at the Riverdale Invite on Thursday. Van Buren won the meet with 36 points, followed by Carey with 47, H-L 58, Elmwood 98 and Waynesfield-Goshen 114. Alivia Roerdink, Taylor Sours and Hazel Stone alll took home medals with Top 15 finishes. Ashley Brickner, Macy Breidenbach, Taylor Joseph and Corrin Hoover rounded out the Top 7 scoring runners.

The Junior High Girls finished 4th of 5 teams. Hannah Schreiner led the way, followed by Ruby Stone, Emma Hintze, Delana Wright and Evalayna Kuebler.

H-L Girls Have Big Carnival Day

 The Lady Chieftains had a very good day at the Tiffin Carnival on Saturday. The Varsity Girls ran in the Division IIB race and finished 9th of 34 teams. Taylor Sours led the way followed by Alivia Roerdink, Hazel Stone, Ashley Brickner and Macy Breidenbach to finish out the scoring for H-L. Taylor Joseph and Corrin Hoover completed the Varsity seven.

In the Open Race the Lady Chieftains also did a very nice job, finishing 5th of 20 teams. The second group was led by Izzy Frankart and Abby Oswalt. Hanna Wyman, Kari Flechtner and Emma Shellhammer rounded out the scoring runners, with Riley Suter and Brook Breidenbach completing the top seven.

H-L Girls Grab 3rd @ Columbus Grove

The Lady Chieftains had a good day at the Columbus Grove Invite on Saturday, placing 3rd of the 12 full teams and 20 schools in their race. They were led by the Top 20 finishes of Alivia Roerdink and Taylor Sours. Also scoring for the Chieftains were Hazel Stone, Ashley Brickner and Macy Breidenbach. Corrin Hoover and Taylor Joseph rounded out the Top 7.  Columbus Grove won the meet with 49 points, followed by Carey with 92, H-L with 128, Patrick Henry 132, Crestview 153, Botkins 175, Edgerton 179, Lincolnview 183, Antwerp 207, Elmwood 207, Mapleton 215, Leipsic 308 and then the rest of the field without full teams.

The Junior High team finished 11th of 17 teams. Finishing in order for the younger Chieftains were Ruby Stone, Delana Wright, Emma Hintze, Hannah Schreiner, Jenna Brown and Evalayna Kuebler.

Lady Chieftians Finish 6th @ Tiger Classic

The Lady Chieftains started the season Saturday with a 6th place finish of the 19 full teams competing at the Seneca East Tiger Classic. Liberty Center won the meet with 48 points, followed by Mt. Gilead with 116, Smithville 128, Gibsonburg 146, Norwalk St. Paul 153 and then Hopewell-Loudon with 186. Wynford, Ottawa Hills, Seneca East, Loudonville, Old Fort, Mapleton, Mohawk, Lakota, Ridgedale, New Riegel, Hardin Northern, Black River and St. Peter's trailed the Chieftains.

Taylor Sours led the way with a 23rd place of the 221 runners. Alivia Roerdink, Ashley Brickner, Taylor Joseph and Macy Breidnebach filled out the Top 5 scoring runners. Hazel Stone and Izzy Frankart also finished in the Top 7 for H-L.
