Two Lady Chieftains Advance to State Meet

Lady Chieftain Regional Qualifiers from last week's District Meet competed in Tiffin on Wednesday and Friday this week. On Wednesday the 4 x 800 team of Taylor Sours, Taylor Leiter, Hanna Wyman and Alivia Roerdink ended their season with a 14th place finish. Also finishing a great year was Alex Jackson in the High Jump, tying for 12th. The 4 x 200 team of Sours, Elizabeth Wells, Jackson and Izzy Frankart did not qualify for finals and finished a fine year. The 4 x 400 team of Leiter, Sours, Frankart and Roerdink ran a very strong race and qualified for Friday's finals.
On Friday, the 4 x 400 team finished their great season on the Regional Podium with an 8th place finish. Alivia Roerdink wrapped up her Long Jump year with a 15th place finish.
Moving on to next week's State Meet were Taylor Leiter finishing 5th in the Pole Vault and Roerdink, with a 2nd place finish in the 800.
H-L Girls Take 3rd in Findlay District

The Hopewell-Loudon Girls finished 3rd in a very competitive District Tournament at Findlay this week. Columbus Grove won the 18 team event with Kalida second and H-L next. Gaining District Championships for the Lady Chieftains were the 4 x 400 team of Taylor Leiter, Taylor Sours, Izzy Frankart and Alivia Roerdink. The only other 1st Place was gained by Roerdink in the 800.
Seconds were won by Roerdink in the Long Jump and the 4 x 800 team of Sours, Leiter, Hanna Wyman and Roerdink.
A Third Place went to Leiter in the Pole Vault.
Fourths went to Alex Jackson in the High Jump and the 4 x 200 team of Elizabeth Wells, Sours, Jackson and Frankart. The Top 4 Places move on to Regional action at Tiffin next week.
SBC Championships

The H-L Girls Track team finished right in the middle of the SBC River Division Standings. Final scores were Fremont SJCC 106, Lakota 103, Gibsonburg 90.5, Old Fort 87, Hopewell-Loudon 81.5, Sandusky St. Mary 67, Calvert 53, Danbury 41, New Riegel 25.
Taking League Championships were the 4 x 800 team of Taylor Sours, Taylor Leiter, Hanna Wyman and Alivia Roerdink, Leiter in the Pole Vault and Roerdink in the 800.
Second Team SBC spots were gained by the 4 x 400 team of Sours, Leiter, Roerdink and Izzy Frankart.
Honorable Mention SBC 3rd Place finishes were Hope Kreais in the High Jump, Roerdink in the Long Jump, and the 4 x 200 team of Sours, Elizabeth Wells, Alex Jackson and Frankart.
H-L Girls Runner-Up @ Ottawa Hills

The Lady Chieftains took home the Runner-Up Trophy in the 11 team Ottawa Hills Green Bear Relays on Friday night. Final scores were Gibsonburg 90, H-L 85, Rossford 68, Ottawa Hills 64, Northwood 54, North Baltimore 38, Maumee Valley C.D. 35, Pettisville 26, Summerfield 19, Stritch Catholic 7 and Emmanuel Christian 3.
Taking 1st Place wins were the Shuttle Hurdel team of Hope Kreais, Macy Breidenbach, Kari Flechtner and Megan Kreais, the 4 x 400 team of Taylor Leiter, Taylor Sours, Alivia Roerdink and Izzy Frankart, and the HIgh Jump team of Hope Kreais, Megan Kreais and Alex Jackson.
Seconds were claimed by the Pole Vault team of Leiter, Macy & Jada Breidenbach, Hope Kreais in the 300 Hurdles and the 4 x 200 team of Sours, Elizabeth Wells, Jackson and Frankart.
Lady Chieftains 3rd at Tiffin

The Lady Chieftains wrapped up their Tuesday Meet schedule in a contest with Tiffin Columbian and Bellevue at Tiffin Stadium, Final score was Tiffin 103, Bellevue 44.5 and H-L 27.5. The H-L girls had many PRs as they tried some different events and relay combinations.
Alivia Roerdink took the lone 1st Place winning the 800. Seconds were gained by Megan Kreais in the High Jump, the 4 x 800 team of Roerdink, Hanna Wyman, Izzy Frankart and Macy Breidenbach, the 4 x 200 team of Alex Jackson, Megan Kreais, Hazel Stone and Frankart, the 4 x 100 team of Kreais, Alayna Jones, Kari Flechtner and Emily Brickner, and the 4 x 400 team of Roerdink, Stone, Wyman and Frankart.
H-L Girls Take Schultz Championship

The Lady Chieftains won their Home Invite as they took home the Schultz Championship on Saturday. Final score was H-L 178, Gibsonburg 158, Delta 121, Calvert 78, Buckeye Central 58, Bucyrus 54 and New Riegel 47.
Takin 1st Place Medals for the Chieftains were the 4 x 1600 Team of Hazel Stone, Emma Hintze, Emily Foster and Abby Oswalt, the 4 x 800 Team of Taylor Sours, Taylor Leiter, Hanna Wyman and Alivia Roerdink, and the 4 x 400 Team of Leiter, Sours, Roerdink and Izzy Frankart. Individual 1st Place finishes were won by Leiter in the Pole Vault and Roerdink in the 800.
Second Place awards were won by Hope Kreais in both the 100 and 300 Hurdles, and the 4 x 200 Team of Sours, Elizabeth Wells, Alex Jackson and Frankart.
H-L Girls 3rd in Margaretta Quad

The Lady Chieftains finished 3rd in a very competitive Quad Meet with Tiffin Columbian, Margaretta and Fremont SJCC. Final scores were Columbian 100, Margaretta 77.5, H-L 46 and Fremont 32.5.
Alivia Roerdink grabbed the lone 1st Place finish, winning the 800. Seconds were claimed by Hope Kreais in the High Jump and 100 Hurdles and 300 Hurdles, Taylor Leiter in the Pole Vault, the 4 x 800 Team of Taylor Sours, Leiter, Hanna Wyman and Roerdink, and the 4 x 400 Team of Leiter, Sours, Roerdink and Izzy Frankart.
Hopewell-Loudon Girls Take Fostoria Booster Championship

The H-L Girls took home the Championship in the Fostoria Booster Invite on Saturday. Final scores were the Lady Chieftains 98, St. Ursula Academy 94, Holland Springfield 93, Old Fort 62, Monroeville 62, Seneca East 59, Genoa 52, Calvert 39, Liberty-Benton 35, Fostoria 31, New Riegel 16, Arcadia 15 and Waite 0.
Taking 1st Place finishes for H-L were the 4 x 800 team of Taylor Sours, Taylor Leiter, Hanna Wyman and Alivia Roerdink, and the 4 x 400 team of Leiter, Sours, Roerdink and Izzy Frankart. Individual 1st Place finishes were won by Leiter in the Pole Vault and Roerdink in the 800,
Hope Kreais took 2nd in the 100 Hurdles, and 3rds were won by the 4 x 200 team of Sours, Megan Kreais, Alex Jackson and Frankart. Individual 3rds were Frankart in the 400 and Hope Kreais in the 300 Hurdles.
Chieftain Track Excels @ Edison

The H-L Girls had another good day at the Edison Invite on Saturday, placing 4th out of the 14 teams and having some very nice performances. Margaretta won the meet, followed by Huron, Edison, Hopewell-Loudon, Norwalk, Monroeville, St. Paul, St. Joseph, St. Mary, Western Reserve, Vermilion, Wellington, Wynford and New Riegel.
Top Placers for the Lady Chieftains were the 4 x 800 team of Hanna Wyman, Taylor Leiter, Taylor Sours and Alivia Roerdink with a 2nd, the 4 x 200 team of Sours, Elizabeth Wells, Alex Jackson and Izzy Frankart with a 3rd, and the 4 x 400 team of Leiter, Sours, Roerdink and Frankart with another 3rd.
Top Individuals were Hope Kreais with a 3rd in the 300 hurdles, Alivia Roerdink 3rd in the 800, and Taylor Leiter 2nd in the Pole Vault.
Girls' Track Wins Quad @ Gibsonburg

Hopewell-Loudon Girls' Track took the top spot in a Quad Meet at Gibsonburg last night. Final Score was H-L 90.5 Gibsonburg 80 Old Fort 74.5 and New Riegel 11. The Lady Chieftains won all four relays, the 4 x 800 Team was Hanna Wyman, Taylor Leiter, Taylor Sours and Alivia Roerdink, the 4 x 100 Team was Elizabeth Wells, Alex Jackson, Hope Kreais and Megan Kreais, the 4 x 200 Team consisted of Sours, Wells, Jackson and Izzy Frankart, and the 4 x 400 team was Leiter, Sours, Roerdink and Frankart. Other 1st Place finishes were Megan Kreais in the High Jump, Leiter in the Pole Vault and 800, Roerdink in the Long Jump, Anna Daniel in the Shot Put, and Hope Kreais in the 100 Hurdles.
Scoring the only 2nd Place finish was Alivia Roerdink in the 1600.
H-L Girls Have Strong Showing at Lakota Invite

The Lady Chieftains had a solid day at the Lakota Invite today. H-L finished 5th of the 15 team field and had many nice performances. Oak Harbor won the meet with Margaretta finishing second.
Three Relay teams finished with medals. The 4 x 800 team of Hanna Wyman, Taylor Leiter, Taylor Sours and Alivia Roerdink finished 3rd, as did the 4 x 400 team of Leiter, Sours, Roerdink and Izzy Frankart. The 4 x 200 team of Sours, Elizabeth Wells, Alex Jackson and Frankart took 4th.
Individual top finishes for the Lady Chieftains were Leiter with a second in the Pole Vault, Roerdink a second in the 800, Megan Kreais a second in the High Jump and Hope Kreais a third in the High Jump.
H-L Girls Take 1st in Fremont Quint

The H-L Girls took 1st Place in the 5 team meet at Fremont on Tuesday. Final Scores were H-L 87.33, Fremont SJCC 82.33, Lakota 62.5, Gibsonburg 60.83 and Calvert 60.

Lady Chieftains Runner-Up at Blue Devil Relays

The Lady Chieftains grabbed the Runner-Up spot at the Blue Devil Relays today. Final score of the Meet was Host Carey winning with 127, followed by H-L with 107, Riverdale 95, Willard 77, Arcadia 65 and Arlington 35.
Taking home the only 1st Place was the Pole Vault team of Taylor Leiter, Macy Breidenbach and Jada Breidenbach.
Seconds were won by the High Jump team of Megan Kreais, Hope Kreais and Alex Jackson, the 4 x 200 team of Elizabeth Wells, Megan Kreais, Alex Jackson and Izzy Frankart, the 4 x 800 team of Taylor Leiter, Macy Breidenbach, Hanna Wyman and Alivia Roerdink, and the Triple Jump team of Alivia Roerdink, Olivia Savidge and Riley Suter.
Lady Chieftains Win in Six Team Meet

The Lady Chieftains got off to a great start to the 2021 Season coming in first in the six team meet held at our home track last nite.
Gaining 1st Place Finishes for H-L were the 4 x 800 team of Macy Breidenbach, Hanna Wyman, Taylor Leiter and Alivia Roerdink, the 4 x 200 team of Megan Kreais, Alayna Jones, Alex Jackson and Izzy Frankart, the 4 x 400 team of Alivia Roerdink, Macy Breidenbach, Taylor Leiter and Izzy Frankart, Hope Kreais in the High Jump, Anna Daniel in the Shot Put and Alivia Roerdink in the 800 and the Long Jump.
Second Places were gathered by Macy Breidenbach in the 1600, Taylor Leiter in the 800 and Hanna Wyman in the 3200.
