The Lady Chieftains kicked off their 2018 season with a 3rd place finish at the Carey Blue Devil Relays on Saturday.Carey won the meet with 135 points, followed by Willard with 109, H-L with 104 and then Riverdale, Arlington, Arcadia and North Baltimore.

Taking 1st Place finishes for H-L were the Pole Vault team of Taylor Leiter, Corrin Hoover and Becky Greene and the Freshman Sprint Medley team of Shanny Strahm, Brynn Carrel, Taylor Sours and Elizabeth Wells. Leiter also grabbed a 1st place in the Freshman mile.

Seconds went to the High Jump team of Hoover, Leiter and Peyton Hoover, along with the Shuttle Hurdle team of C. Hoover, Strahm, Ashley Brickner and Channelle Lyons. Also scoring seconds were the Throwers Relay of Jazmine Nutter, Courtney Yarbrough, Hailey Welly and Morgan Searles and the 4 x 400 team of Emily Pace, Abbi Roerdink, Peyton Hoover and Corrin Hoover.
