Girls Varsity District Track at. Gibsonburg

The Hopewell-Loudon Girls' Track team was very successful at the District Championships on Saturday.  The team finished 4th of the 13 team field with 70 points.  Moving on to Regional action for the Lady Chieftains were Bailey Jameson winning the Long Jump, Corrin Hoover with a 4th in the Pole Vault, Lizzie Erlanger with a third in the 100 and a 4th in the 100 Hurdles and Emily Pace with a 2nd place finishin the 800.  Joining them were the 4 x 800 Relay team of Pace, Ashley Brickner, Jazmine Nutter and Hoover, the 4 x 400 team of Pace, Peyton Hoover, Abbi Roerdink and Jameson, and the District Champion 4 x 200 team of Erlanger, Courtney Palte, Roerdink and Jameson.  Good Luck to all these athletes as they head to the Tiffin Regional this coming Wednesday and Friday.

The Lady Chieftains grabbed their highest finish ever in the BVC Championships Friday Night @ Liberty-Benton by taking the Runner-Up spot. Finishing with League Honors were Lizzie Erlanger with a 2nd in the 100 Hurdles, Bailey Jameson with a 3rd in the Long Jump, Corrin Hoover with a 3rd in the Pole Vault, Emily Pace with a 2nd in the 800, the 4 x 400 Relay team of Pace, Peyton Hoover, Abbi Roerdink and Jameson and the 4 x 200 Relay team of Erlanger, Courtney Palte, Roerdink and Jameson, who were the BVC Champions!  The team will move into District action this Wednesday @ Gibsonburg.
Girls Varsity Track vs. Seneca East High School

The Lady Chieftains defeated the Tigers of Seneca East in a dual meet on Tuesday 97-39.  Scoring 1st Place finishes for the Chieftains were the 4 x 800 Relay Team of Emily Pace, Ashley Brickner, Jazmine Nutter and Corrin Hoover, the 4 x 200 team of  Lizzie Erlanger, Courtney Palte, Abbi Roerdink and Bailey Jameson and the 4 x 400 team of Pace, Peyton Hoover, Roerdink and Jameson.  Individual champs were Erlanger in the 100 Hurdles, Palte in the 100, Renae Kapelka in the 1600, Corrin Hoover in the 400, Channelle Lyons in the 300 Hurdles, Jameson in the 200 and Camie Tidswell in the 3200.  The BVC League Meet is this Friday @ Liberty-Benton.
Dick Schultz Invitational

The Lady Chieftains took the Schultz Title for the first time since 2010 at Fostoria Friday night in the steady rain.  The Meet was stopped for lightning with two events to go.  H-L scored 153 points to 95 for Runner-Up Lakota, followed by Buckeye Central 83, Delta 72, Bucyrus 62, North Baltimore 62, Gibsonburg 46. Calvert 33 and New Riegel 4.  Relays led the way with the 4 x 1600 Team of Camie Tidswell, Hailey Welly, Madisen Crites-Kline and Renae Kapleka, the 4 x 800 Team of Emily Pace, Ashley Brickner, Jazmine Nutter and Corrin Hoover, and the 4 x 200 Team of Lizzie Erlanger, Courtney Palte, Abbi Roerdink and Bailey Jameson all taking first place.  Individual winners were Erlanger in the 100 Hurdles, Jameson in the Long Jump and Pace in the 800.

The Hopewell-Loudon Girls won a Quad meet with St. Wendelin, Old Fort and North Baltimore on Tuesday at the Tiffin University Track.  H-L had 125 followed by St. Wendelin with 47.33, North Baltimore with 42.33 and Old Fort with 41.33.  Taking 1st Place finishes for the Chieftains were Lizzie Erlanger in the 100, 100 Hurdles and the 200.  She was also in the winning 4 x 200 team with Courtney Palte, Abbi Roerdink and Bailey Jameson.  Other relay winners were the 4 x 800 of Emily Pace, Jazmine Nutter, Ashley Brickner and Corrin Hoover, the 4 x 100 team of Gala Morel, Hunter Strahm, Channelle Lyons and Palte, and the 4 x 400 team of Pace, Hoover, Roerdink and Jameson.  Pace won the 400, Jameson the Long Jump . Hoover the 1600 and Renae Kapelka the 800.  The Schultz Invite will be Friday in Fostoria.
Girls Varsity Track vs. Fostoria Booster Invite

It was a big day for the Lady Chieftains at the Fostoria Booster Invite on Saturday.  Their total of 101 points left them just two points shy of the Team Championship as they grabbed the Runner-Up spot in the 14 team Invite.  The relay teams were very strong. Taking firsts were the 4 x 800 team of Emily Pace, Ashley Brickner, Jazmine Nutter and Corrin Hoover, the 4 x 200 team of Lizzie Erlanger, Courtney Palte, Abbi Roerdink and Bailey Jameson and the 4 x 400 team of Pace, Hoover, Roerdink and Jameson.  Pace also grabbed an individual first in the 800.  Erlanger took second in the 100 Hurdles, and thirds were claimed by Becky Greene in the Pole Vault, Hailey Welly in the 3200 and the 4 x 100 team of Hunter Strahm, Gala Morel, Channelle Lyons and Palte.  The Chieftains will host two meets this week @ Tiffin University and Fostoria.
Girls Varsity Track vs. St. Wendelin Invititational

The Lady Chieftains had a big day at the St. Wendelin Invitational in Fostoria Saturday.  They placed 3rd of 16 teams with 65.5 points.  Woodmore and Upper Sandusky took the top two spots, and then following the Chieftains in the standings were Fremont SJCC, Pandora-Gilboa, Mohawk, Van Buren, Arcadia, Cardinal Stritch, St. Wendelin, North Baltimore, Old Fort, Fostoria, Danbury, Gibsonburg and New Riegel.  Taking a First was Bailey Jameson in the Long Jump.  Seconds were captured by Lizzie Erlanger in the 100 Hurdles, Emily Pace in the 800 and the 4 x 200 Relay Team of Erlanger, Courtney Palte, Abbi Roerdink and Jameson.  The 4 x 800 Relay Team of Pace, Ashley Brickner, Jazmine Nutter and Renae Kapelka finished 3rd.  The H-L squad will be back in action Thursday @ Genoa.

The Lady Chieftain won a Quad Meet @ Fremont, racking up 114 points to Fremont St. Joe's 70, Port Clinton"s 58 and New Riegel's 1.  Grabbing firsts for H-L were the 4 x 800 Relay Team of Ashley Brickner, Hailey Welly, Jazmine Nutter and Renae Kapelka, the 4 x 100 Team of Hunter Strahm, Gala Morel, Channelle Lyons and Courtney Palte, the 4 x 200 Team of Strahm, Palte, Abbi Roerdink and Bailey Jameson, Lizzie Erlanger in the 100 Hurdles, the 300 Hurdles and the 100 Dash, Jameson in the Long Jump, Emily Pace in the 1600 and the 800, Becky Greene in the Pole Vault and Alyssa Naus in the High Jump.  The team will compete in the St. Wendelin Invitational this Saturday.

The Hopewell-Loudon Girls' Varsity Track finished 5th of 15 teams at the Lakota Invitational on Saturday.  Leading the way with a 1st Place finish in the Long Jump was Bailey Jameson.  Grabbing seconds were Emily Pace in the 800 and the Shuttle Hurdle Team of Lizzie Erlanger, Gala Morel, Courtney Palte and Lexi Feindel.  Taking thirds were a trio of Relay teams.  The 4 x 1600 team of Ashley Brickner, Hailey Welly, Madisen Crites-Kline and Renae Kapelka, the 4 x 800 team of Pace, Brickner, Jazmine Nutter and Corrin Hoover, and the 4 x 400 team of Pace, Feindel, Abbi Roerdink and Hoover.  The Lady Chieftains will travel to Fremont on Wednesday for the St. Joe Streak Invite.
Girls Varsity Track vs. Findlay High School

The Lady Chieftains again faced some elite competition last nite as they took on Liberty-Benton and Findlay High School @ Findlay. The final score was LB 75, Findlay 67 and H-L 30.  Picking up 1st places for Hopewell-Loudon were Lizzie Erlanger in the 200 and Camie Tidswell in the 3200.  Seconds were grabbed by Emily Pace in the 800 , Renae Kapelka in the 3200, Corrin Hoover in the Pole Vault, the 4 x 800 Relay team of Pace, Ashley Brickner, Jazmine Nutter and Hoover and the 4 x 100 team of Hunter Strahm, Courtney Palte, Gala Morel and Bailey Jameson.  The Lady Chieftains will travel to Lakota this Saturday for the 16 team Lakota Invitational.
Girls Varsity Track vs. Carey

The Lady Chieftain Track team finished third of 8 teams at the Carey Blue Devil Relays on Saturday.  The girls battled very good competition and the frigid temperatures in the morning to finish with 96 points.  Carey won the meet with 121, followed by Riverdale with 118, H-L 96, Van Buren 87.5, Arlington 68.5, North Baltimore 66.5, Arcadis 46 and Tiffin Calvert 41.5.  Capturing 1st Place was the Shuttle Hurdle Team of Lizzie Erlanger, Gala Morel, Courtney Palte and Lexi Feindel.  Gaining 2nds were the Long Jump Team of Bailey Jameson, Baleigh Searles and Renae Kapelka, the 4 x 800 Relay Team of Emily Pace, Ashley Brickner, Jazmine Nutter and Corrin Hoover, the 4 x 200 Team of Erlanger, Morel, Hunter Strahm and Jameson, and the Field Event 4 x 100 of Katie Arnold, Karyssa Siebenaller, Ashtyn Wolph and Morgan Searles.  The team will travel to the Lakota Invite next Saturday after a midweek meet @ Findlay.
Girls Varsity Track vs. Riverdale High School

The Lady Chieftains started the year finishing third of three teams.  Carey and Riverdale proved too strong as the H-L squad scored 25 points to Carey's 89.5 and  Riverdale's 60.5.  First place finishes were claimed by Bailey Jameson in the Long Jump, Channelle Lyons in the 300 Hurdles and Emily Pace in the 800.
